MINUTES OF THE ETHICS COMMISSION
City of Corpus Christi, Texas
5:30 p.m., May 12, 2005
ACM Conference Room — 5th Floor
City Hall — 1201 Leopard
The members present were: Chair Fred Haley, Vice-Chair James Cramer, Terry Carter,
Joe Guzman, Harlan Heitkamp, Rick Marcantonio and Pastor Derrick Reaves.
Assistant City Attorney Lisa Aguilar was present.
The Commission unanimously approved the minutes of the April 14, 2005.
The Commission reviewed Reports of Financial Information for year ending December
31, 2004. The Commission requested that future discussion occur regarding whether
amendments to report should be suggested.
The Commission reviewed previous ethics question regarding legal representation by
Ethics Commissioner in proceeding or litigation adverse to the City. The Commission
requested future discussion on intent of Section 2-311 (9) of the City Code of
Ordinances, which prohibits such representation. The Commission requested that
future agendas continue to include reviews of previously issued ethics opinions.
Ms. Aguilar informed the Commission that new Commissioner had been appointed,
Linda Figueroa.
