The members present were: Chair Augustin Rivera, Jr., Vice-Chair Garry Bradford, Steven
Fieldcamp,Frank Tompkins II,Eduardo Hinojosa, Cecil Henry and David Longoria. Assistant City
Attorney Allison Galloway was present.
Item No. 2 was deferred.
The Commission took up Item No. 3, consideration of Ethics Ordinance, Commission
procedures and practices, and possible changes thereto. Assistant City Attorney Allison Galloway
briefed the Commission on the discussion of possible ordinance changes during the City Council's
retreat. The Council asked the Commission to look into:
1. The abstention of Council members from voting on appointments to independent
agencies, and City Boards and Commissions under certain circumstances; and,
2. A lobbyist registration provision.
There was no activity under Item Nos. 4 or 5.
The Commission discussed holding its next meeting on June 10, 1999.
Bill Kopecky spoke during the public comment portion of the meeting and addressed the
matters discussed under Item No. 3.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
