Food Advisory Committee Meeting
CITY SECRETARY'S OFFICE
Members in attendance: Lisa Pollakis-Chair, Dr. Nina Sisley, Jack Baker, Gabriel
Hernandez.
Members absent: Isabel Aguilar
Staff Present: Eric Cuevas, Program Manager
The meeting was called to order at 2:05 p.m. by Chair Pollakis. Pollakis stated that
there was a quorum, and asked for acceptance of the minutes of the previous meeting.
They were accepted.
Eric Cuevas gave the Manager's report, and stated that the position vacated by
Roxanne Urbie is still not filled. He stated that the Division would be getting someone
from a temporary agency to fill the position until fiscal year 2010-2011.
Cuevas reported that the staff continues to work very hard to make sure that the citizens
of the city are safe while eating out. He also stated that the Division has always had a
policy of lending out CD's of the food handlers class to individuals with Food Manager's
certificates to teach classes outside of the Health Department. Cuevas stated that this
is not the issue, but the time frame on the return of the CD's is the issue.
Cuevas asked the Committee if a deposit should be asked of the individual to act as an
incentive for a timely return. After some discussion, Cuevas stated that he would speak
with Legal on the matter.
With no further business the meeting was adjourned at 3:00 p.m.
