Minutes of April 24, 2014
Members in attendance: Lisa Pollakis-Chair, Manuel Ortega, Bobby Boyle
Staff Liaison: Manuel Garcia
Pollakis called the meeting to order at 1;45 p.m. Pollakis asked for acceptance of the minutes.
The minutes were read and approved.
Garcia gave the Manager's report. He informed members that Tracey Cantu was no longer with
the department. Garcia also stated that Inspectors are concentrating on getting all registered
pools inspected and ready.for summer.
A general discussion was held about board vacancies. Garcia urged members to try and recruit
or recommend someone to fill the vacancies.
Pollakis brought up the topic about changing the food manager permits to 5 years instead of 2
years. She stated that the previous manager, Cantu was in the process of finding out what
steps needed to be taken to make the change. Garcia said he would try to find out information
from Cantu.
Discussion took place over mobile vendors. Members were concerned about unpermitted
vendors at Buc Days events. Garcia assured members that inspectors would be out on the day
of the Buc parade to make sure that every vendor that they inspected was permitted including
the carnival.
With no further discussion, a motion was made to adjourn the meeting
The meeting was adjourned at 2:15 p.m.
