Members in attendance: Lisa Pollakis Chair, Dr. Patricia Polastri, Manuel Ortega, Bobby Boyle, and
Anthony Hernandez
Staff Liaison: Isidoro Prado
Lisa Pollakis Chair, called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon. of call was taken by Isidoro Prado (staff).
A motion to approve the minutes for the meeting held on April 07, 2015 was made by Bobby Boyle and
2 A by Dr. Patricia Polastri.
Prado gave the Manager's report. Mr. Prado discuss with FSAC Invoices to Food Establishments had been
sent out and 97% had paid. There are still approximately 45 Establishments that have not paid. Pool
permits (293) two hundred ninety three invoices sent out and 59 have not paid yet. The due date to pay
is April 15, 2015. There are 193 Mobile Units and 29 have not paid yet.
Mr. Prado had a discussion with Capt. Brown, Capt. Lewis, and Capt. Borden about Fire Suppression if the
Fire Marshall would inspect Mobile Units(Propane Tanks), and if there was anything in writing as to at
agreement was made. Eric Cuevas made only a verbal agreement—nothing in writing. Mr. Prado stated
that the compliance we deal with is Health &Sanitation.
The five million dollar grant "Dept. of Labor Apprenticeship Innovation Grant" would allow Inspector I
and Inspector 2 to train as Apprenticed to get funding to be able to take Certification Test. Right now,
Inspector Manuel Garcia is taking 3 courses for Certified Sanitarian at Del Mar College.
IOR a software program is being developed,throughout city depts. The office staff have been involved
in input. The City next step is for all staff to be trained hands on. Everything is of electronically. It
will replace People Soft.
The Problematic Restaurants: an Express, My Favorite in, Flays Restaurant, and House of
Burgers. If you would like copies of inspections for our up-coming meeting, please let me know that this
is your request.
I am forwarding Mr. Brian Carson Bio for your review and consideration for the FSAC. It is acceptable for
FSAC to review and make recommendations to City Council for candidates to be place on committee.
Just a friendly reminder, Lisa ll is Chair,term will expire June 24, 2015. Discussion for herr place to
take place on June V meeting. And other vacancies in June as well.
Thank you all for being so responsive to our meetings. We are caught up and our next FSAC meeting will
be on Monday,June,01, 2015, at 12:00 noon.
With no further discussion, a motion to adjourn was made by Lisa Pollakis Chair and 2 nd by Dr,, Patricia
Polastri. The meeting was adjourned at 1:00 p.m.
