HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Food Service Advisory Committee - 10/26/2015 LE4-Dri.,wo-EIVFood Service Advisory Committee Meeting „iii Minutes of October 26, 2015 / for approval Members in attendance: Anthony Hernandez Chair, Carlos Moreno, Manuel Ortega, Bobby Boyle, George Brown and Brian Carson Staff Liaison: Mr. Isidor Prado, Manuel Garcia, Norma Hughes A motion to approve the minutes for the meeting held on October 26, 2015 was made by Mr.Anthony Hernandez Chair and 2"d by Mr. Manuel Ortega. The City and County Food Establishments, Septic Systems, and Swimming Pools, all our goals have been met. The revenues are at 100%. Our new Inspector, Diana Villarreal Inspector 1, with Dist. 5, educational young lady. She is doing the inspections on her own and still training on Mobile Units. The inspectors have received training on Sushi Bar. The inspectors are making sure that when making Sushi the proper equipment required is being used,so no one will get sick. Inspector, Manuel has taken a 12 hr. class for Sanitarian. He passed the test for Sanitarian, which functions like an engineer, as septic systems are concern. We will be having Power Point Presentations here to educate the public on what they need to have. We also make them aware of the Texas Cottage Law. Mr. Prado is seeing a trend on restaurants owners,which own multiple businesses,they are rotating their staff,which is a good thing. They are educating themselves. Our new Interim Supervisor, Inspector Manuel Garcia, we welcome aboard. Mr. Prado gave all members his thanks for their support in attending the meetings. Mr. Prado stated that Manuel Garcia has more than 15 yrs.experience and is very confident in passing on to him the position as Interim Supervisor for the Environmental Division. Mr.Anthony Hernandez Chair congratulated Manuel in his new position. A new TFER in October 11, 2015,the inspection form will be more detailed and have a lot of categories on them. We have training every Tuesday on "Inspect A Hub." Problematic Restaurants are: Grimaldi's Pizzeria,Taqueria Herradura,Twin Peaks,Taco Bell, and Popeye's. Mr.Anthony Hernandez Chair scheduled the next Food Service Advisory Committee meeting to be Monday, December 14,2015,at 12:00 noon. With no further discussion, a motion to adjourn was made by Mr.Anthony Hernandez,Chair and 2"d by Mr. Manuel Ortega. The meeting was adjourned at 1:00 p.m.
