Lauren Rabe stated there was a quorum, and the meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. A
motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting . Mr. Carlos Moreno moved to accept,
with the second by Mr. Brian Carson. With an unanimous vote the Minutes of May 23, 2016
were accepted.
A motion to accept Dr. Patricia Polastri as the Chairman and Mr. Manuel Ortega as the Vice
Chairman for the FSAC Board, all the members voted in favor and Mr. Carlos Moreno and
Manuel Ortega accepted the motion. Congratulations to our Chairman, Dr. Patricia Polastri and
our Vice Chairman, Mr. Manuel Ortega.
Lauren Rabe gave the Manager's report. She reported that the Environmental Division has
food establishments, complaints we receive, mobile units, and food handier classes, is as of
Sept. 12, 2016, the Food Handier Class schedule changed to 9:00-1030 am, 3:00-4:30 pm, and
5-30-7:00 pm on Mondays only. The Spanish Class is the it Thursday of the month. The
Food Handier Class attendance has been great from 50 — 60 people. A group class (special
class) will be scheduled for 10 or more people from the same food establishment. And also all
Food Handier certificates issued on line must have a license number (TXDSHS# or (ANSI) logo,
as of Sept. 12, 2016. The employer will accept this certificate. The Food Mgr. License is good
for 5 years, but a renewal every 2 years. We aren't providing the DVD anymore.
We have a count of 3,842 Food Establishments for City/County. We have a count of 209 new
OSSF (Septic). We continue to inspect and permit Commercial Swimming Pools and when
receive complaints only on a residence or condominium.
The Environmental Division has two new vacancies. These vacancies are for Inspector Nicolas
Ridge and Inspector Mani Ponnuse my. These job positions are not posted yet, not until early
November.
Our next F.S.A.C. meeting is scheduled for Dec. 06, 2016, meeting will start at 2:00 p.m., at
2406 Leopard St., Frost Bank Bldg, With no further discussion, a motion to adjourn was made by
Mr. Carlos Moreno and 2nd by Mr. Brian Carson. The meeting was adjourned at 3:00 p.m.
