Staff Present: Mike Hacker,Harvey Ausbie,Dina Chavez
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Dee Haven at 2:00 p.m.
Minutes from the May 1, 2007 were approved by the committee. A motion was made to
excuse the absence of Beverly Rogers, which was seconded by Dr. Sisley. The Food
Service Advisory Committee approved the motion.
Dee Haven spoke of the state restaurant association(TRA)taking steps to increase the
amount of staff to be able to do the job correctly. TRA accepted it without exception and
spoke in favor of doing so.
Dr. Sisley addressed the matter of requesting more funding for more positions to the City
Council. Per Mike Hacker, they have requested more budget to the County
Commissioner. Dr. Sisley feels the need to request more budget should be through the
City Council rather than the County Commissioner.
Harvey Ausbie gave his presentation of goals for the Environmental and Consumer
Health Division. First, was the dress attire for the health inspectors. The attire seems to
be too informal. He suggested having dress shirts for each inspector with the health
department logo. FSAC felt that was a good suggestion and feels the inspectors would be
setting a good example for the restaurant staff. Second, he stated he was retraining the
health inspectors on properly filling out the inspection reports. Harvey also suggested
cross-training Vector Control in Environmental and Consumer Health Division, which
the FSAC felt that was a great idea.
Members were adjourned.
