Members Present: Dee Haven, Gabriel Hernandez, Michael Garcia, Dr. Nina Sisley and
Beverly Rogers
Members Absent: Cheri Sperling and Joshua Hinojosa
Non Members Present:
Staff Present: Mike Hacker,Harvey Ausbie, Mannie Garcia, and Gabriel Ramirez
Meeting was called to order by Dee Haven.
Minutes were reviewed. Motion to approve was made by Dee Haven and seconded by
Beverly Rogers. Motion carried.
Board Business
The meeting held on February 12, 2008 had been cancelled. There were not enough
members present to form a quorum. Beverly Rogers mailed in a letter regarding her
absence from the previous meeting unknowingly the meeting had been cancelled. Dee
Haven motioned to excuse Beverly Rogers's absence. Motion was seconded by Gabriel
Hernandez.
Harvey Ausbie gave Food Manager's Report regarding the new PDA's the
Environmental Health Staff have been using. The program that was set up for the PDA's
generates 5 random inspections per inspector/ sanitarian per day.
There was a discussion about Joshua Hinojosa being on the mailing list. Mannie Garcia
will verify if Joshua Hinojosa is on the mailing list to ensure he will receive the minutes
for future meetings.
Dee Haven opened a discussion regarding the City Secretary being designated as the
Public Information Coordinator(PIC) for the Food Service Advisory Committee. The
board has a few concerns with assigning the City Secretary as the PIC. The board has
asked Harvey Ausbie to contact the City Secretary's Office regarding their duties as PIC.
Also, any limitations the FSAC members may have with assigning the City Secretary as
PIC.
Gabriel Ramirez was able to give a presentation with the PDA the Environmental Staff is
now using. Gabriel Ramirez explained the procedures regarding logging in,performing
the inspection,printing the inspection, and finalizing the inspections at the end of the day.

Gabriel Hernandez inquired if Environmental Health Division was still in need of help
and the status of the letter in response to the depaitment needing more help. Dee Haven
received the information he had requested but didn't have details as to how many
inspectors Environmental Health Division had in the past. Dee Haven would prefer
having the correct information before submitting the letter with the FSAC members'
signatures.
