ATTENDANCE REVIEW: Mr. Ard asked to be excused today. Motion approved to excuse Mr. Ard from today's meeting. All in good standing. Vacancy on this committee for a food industry member still exists. DIRECTORS REPORT: Dr. Sisley informed Members that Advisory Committees will need to be specific about agenda items and what is brought up at their meetings. The City Manager has not presented Smoking Ordinance changes to the City Council yet; the changes are essentially what this committee requested. It is unknown what impact the recent government report on second hand smoke will have on the Smoking Ordinance. Environmental Health's City budget is $245,847; their County budget is less easily defined. County activities require (2) inspectors who also do City inspections. No County revenue is produced. Food Manager Permit's have decreased, probably due to managers not obtaining permits until actually needed now that a fee is required. Inspectors' emphasis on the importance of food temperatures has reduced violations by 33%. ' The nature of complaints was discussed.
