Chairperson Ramiro Gamboa called the meeting to order at 5:07 p.m.

B. REQUESTS FOR EXCUSED ABSENCES
Motion to excuse Robert Adler, Edna Arredondo, Pastor Derrick Reaves and Lucy
MOTION Reta for the June 3, 2010 meeting made by Robert Garza and seconded by Toni
Davis. Motion passed.
2. APPROVAL OF REGULAR MEETING MINUTES OF 05106/10
MOTION Motion to approve the May 6, 2010 meeting minutes made by Robert Garza and
seconded by Kathleen Cooper. Motion passed.
3. PUBLIC COMMENTS (LIMITED TO 3 MINUTES)
None
4. PRESENTATIONS
A. Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation — Bob Jones, State Chair
State Chair, Bob Jones, stated the Governor appointed him as Chair of the Texas
State Affordable Housing Corporation's Board of Directors. He and other members of
the board are trying to get the information out to as many counties and communities
throughout the State of Texas. Mr. Jones introduced the President of the corporation,
David Long, who then provided more of an insight and presented the PowerPoint
presentation.
Items presented and discussed (A copy of the presentation is attached to the back of the minutes.):
• Organization History - The Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation is a
nonprofit corporation created by the Texas Legislature in 1994 to provide safe,
decent and affordable housing for low-income Texans.
• Programs & Services — Single Family Programs, Multifamily Programs and Other
Programs
• First-Time Homebuyer Programs (Bond programs established by the Texas
Legislature) - Professional Educator Home Loan Program and Homes for Texas

• First-Time Homebuyer Programs (Bond programs created by Texas State
Affordable Housing Corporation) — Home Sweet Texas Loan Program and
Mortgage Credit Certificate Program

General discussion ensued about the City collaborating with local civic organizations
for possible outreach to citizens and neighborhoods of these available programs. Mr.
Long was agreeable to returning to Corpus Christi to assist with neighborhood
outreach.
MOTION Motion to dispense with the regular order of business after Terry Mill's Juneteenth
presentation made by Robert Garza and seconded by Kathleen Cooper. Motion passed.
[Abel Alonzo left at approximately 5:56 p.m.]
Terry Mills announced the Annual Juneteenth Park Celebration and provided an
overview of activities.
Meeting then adjourned at approximately 6:09 p.m.
