Chairperson Ramiro Gamboa called the meeting to order at 5:13 p.m.

4. PRESENTATIONS
A. Overview of EEOC services - Charlene Kaplan, EEOC Compliance Officer, City
of C.C. Human Relations Division
Ms. Kaplan talked about the process and purpose of the Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission.
6. Chairpersons Report
A. Discussion and Action on appointment of Chairperson
Chairperson Gamboa announced the Mayor's request for the Commission to discuss
and select a recommendation /reappointment for a chairperson. As there were no other
MOTION nominees and Mr. Gamboa was willing to serve another term, Ms. Villagran called for
motion to recommend Mr. Gamboa as Chairman for another year.

B. Update on Retreat - Meeting Notes
Chairperson Gamboa mentioned that everyone has been given a copy of the 1St Annual
Retreat meeting notes. Mr. Gamboa went into a brief description of how informational
the retreat was and how nice it was to get to meet the other entities that attended.

Discussion and Action on Human Relations Commission Goals
Chairperson Gamboa mentioned that at the retreat, he and the commissioners who
attended came up with the three goals mentioned in the meeting notes. Mr. Gamboa
MOTION
delegated Commissioners Elias Valverde and Edna Arredondo to ensure the
Commission begins the goal in September 2012.

Housing Subcommittee
Margie Myers discussed the new laws pertaining to the home owners associations.
B.
Committee for Persons With Disabilities
Chairperson Gamboa mentioned the Committee for Persons with Disabilities had
not met and will meet on 07/11/12.
C.
Education Subcommittee
No Report
D.
Disparity Subcommittee
No Report.
8. HUMAN RELATIONS ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT
A. Department Monthly Performance Report Review
Mrs. Wilson provided the June 2012 Monthly Performance Report. Highlights of division
activity provided.

9. COMMISSIONERS REPORT
Chairperson Gamboa mentioned that Robert Franklin has resigned from the Commission.

IRTA Accessibility Demonstration- Mike Pefanls and Carlos Vargas
Mr. Pefanis discussed the ADA Accessibility challenges on a 40' RTA Fixed Route Bus as well as giving RTA
Fleet information such as Security on buses, Bus ADA Compliance procedures, and bus routes, B-Line
Para transit bus. CFPWD Committee Member Bertha Romero and Youth Commissioner Eleni Salazar
volunteered to demonstrate and to personally experience what it is like for people with disabilities
whom are wheelchair bound to ride the bus whether itme the mTAora-unm.
