Summary of Minutes for February 5, 2015
1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Joel Mumphord called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

5. PRESENTATIONS
A. Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) - Rudy Bentancourt,
Community Development Admin.
Mr. Bentancourt verbally provided a presentation regarding brief history the
Community Development Block Grant as it pertains to affordable housing. Further
discussion ensued. Comment and questions were asked by various Commissioners.
6. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS
A. Housing Subcommittee - No Report
No update.
B. Committee for Persons with Disabilities - Update
CFPWD Chairperson Ramos reported the on the presentations, staff reports and
subcommittee reports that were provided during the Committee for Persons with
Disabilities 2/4/15 regular monthly meeting. Mrs. Wilson stated she offered to
open a fundraiser for the Eggstravaganza event by accepting donations of
monetary or items. All donations are due to the South Texas Light House for the
Blind by 3/1/15.

C. Education Subcommittee - Update

D. 50th Anniversary Subcommittee - No Update
E. Scholarship Program Subcommittee - Update
Commissioner Rene Saenz reported the subcommittee met on 2/3/5 and
discussed and reviewed the San Antonio Education Scholarship packets. The
subcommittee will begin to investigate further the exact details of the San Antonio
scholarship program. Meetings will need to be held with legal to see if the City is
able to provide funds to City residents, or if the subcommittee will need to go
through a non-profit organization. The Scholarship Program Subcommittee is
scheduled to meet again on 3/3/15 at 5 p.m. in the Human Relations conference
room.
F. Disparity Subcommittee - No Update
7. HUMAN RELATIONS ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT
Sylvia Wilson provided and discussed her January 2015 performance report.
(A copy of the report is attached at the end of the minutes)

No items were requested to be placed on the next agenda.
