CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Kramer called the meeting to order at 5:01 p.m. A. ROLL CALL Present Commissioners: Mickey Kramer Alice Aparicio-Bussey April Bassett Saherish Surani Nora G. REQUESTS FOR EXCUSED ABSENCES AND REVIEW OF ABSENCE DOCUMENT Robert Bonilla requested an excused absence for the 11/5/15 monthly meeting. PUBLIC COMMENTS (LIMITED TO 3 MINUTES) No Public Comments. 5. PRESENTATIONS A. Low Income Housing Programs in Corpus Christi — Lamont Taylor Mr. Taylor did not attend meeting. B. First Time Home Buyer Program — Kelly Fry, Program Manager, Housing and Community Development Ms. Fry did not attend meeting. 6. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS A. Housing Subcommittee — Alice Bussey reported on housing trend for October 2015 in comparison with October 2014. She commented on the low inventory for affordable housing, stipulating affordable housing refers to those under$150,000. Available financing options were discussed. Ms. Bussey stated she expects an interest rate increase in the near future. B. Committee for Persons with Disabilities — No Report. No quorum for 10.07.15 meeting. Page 1 of 3 C. Education Subcommittee — Melody Guerrero stated a College & Career Day is planned for the second week in February 2016. D. Scholarship Program Subcommittee — No Update E. Bylaw Subcommittee — Chairperson Kramer stated need to make appointments to committee. Need Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary. Secretary will fill in for Chairperson and Vice Chairperson as needed. 7. HUMAN RELATIONS ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT Mrs. Wilson provided and discussed her October 2015 monthly performance report to Commissioners. (A copy of the report is attached at the end of the minutes) 8. CHAIRPERSONS REPORT — No report 9. Identify Items to be placed on next Agenda • Commissioner Mumphord had previously requested a Fair Housing presentation from Human Relations and Chairperson Kramer stated the request would be placed on the December agenda. • Commission Bassett suggested a presentation by Dr. Maureen Oliver on the subject of Bullying in the workplace. 10.ADJOURNMENT MOTION Motion —Joel Mumphord Second — Rene Saenz Motion Passed Meeting adjourned at 5:38 p.m. Attachments 7.
