CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Kramer called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. A. REQUESTS AND APPROVALS FOR EXCUSED ABSENCES Joel Mumphord requested an excused absence for this month's meeting due to illness. Saherish Surani emailed that she wouldn't be present at today's meeting due to an illness. MOTION Motion —April Bassett Second — Dr. Roy Stock Motion Passed 3. APPROVAL OF REGULAR MEETING MINUTES OF 02.04.16 MOTION Motion — Laura Commons Second — Dr. Roy Stock Motion Passed 4. PUBLIC COMMENTS (LIMITED TO 3 MINUTES) Ms. Jackie Turner, founder of One Woman at a Time, and Ms.Cella Boyd, founder of Women Encouraging Women, spoke to the Commission and expressed a desire to be on the Agenda for the May Meeting. 5. PRESENTATIONS A. Harbor Bridge Agreement — Reverend Adam Carrington discussed the Harbor Bridge Project and the efforts being made to assist the residents affected by the project. 6. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS A. Housing Subcommittee — Laura Commons reviewed the statistics from February 2016 and provided a handout on housing trends. (A copy of the handout is attached) B. Committee for Persons with Disabilities — Mr. Balli provided an update. Pagel of 4 C. Education Subcommittee — Melody Guerrero stated that she and Robert Bonilla would be working on the presentation with Charlene Kaplan of the Human Relations Department and hope to finalize definite plans soon. D. Scholarship Program Subcommittee — Rene Saenz gave an update on the scholarship program. E. Bylaw Subcommittee— Mickey Kramer provided an update on the progress made to establish a set of By Laws for the Commission 7. HUMAN RELATIONS ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT Mrs. Wilson reviewed her March 2016 monthly performance report with the Commissioners. (A copy of the report is attached.) 8. CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT — Mr. Kramer stated that he is looking into reducing the number of members on the Commission to ensure a quorum for the meetings. Mr. Aguinaga suggested the possibility of reducing the number of meetings. 9. Identify Items to be placed on next Agenda • Productive Workforce Diversity — Bilaye R.
