CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Kramer called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. A. Introduction of new members Mr. Jeremy Coleman introduced himself and stated he had graduated from King High School, attended Del Mar College and Texas A & M Corpus Christi, and was managing CEO for Lakewood Village Homeowners Association. 2. REQUESTS AND APPROVALS FOR EXCUSED ABSENCES Nora Mireles and Rene Saenz were unable to attend the November meeting due to work conflicts and requested an excused absence. Both requests were approved. PUBLIC COMMENTS (LIMITED TO 3 MINUTES) - None 5. PRESENTATIONS: A. Update on Citizens Alliance for Fairness and Progress - April Bassett provided an update on the efforts to relocate the citizens affected by the Harbor Bridge project and discussed some of the existing challenges. Ms. Bassett answered questions Page 1 of 7 from the members and provided some handouts pertaining to workshops in November and December. (Copies of the handouts are attached to the Minutes.) 6. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS A. Housing Subcommittee — Laura Commons handed out the Corpus Christi Housing Report and the Nueces County Housing Report for September 2017 and informed the Commission that Hurricane Harvey had affected housing sales. (Copies of the handouts are attached to the Minutes.) B. Committee for Persons with Disabilities—Richard Balli provided an update from the November 1St meeting and shared the ADA Citation Report from July through October 2017. C. Education Subcommittee — Sylvia Wilson stated she would forward the youth commissioners' presentation and a link to the EEOC Youth at Work program. Mr. Kramer said he hoped to get a presentation into Veterans High School during the month of November and into another school in December. D. Scholarship Program Subcommittee —Sylvia Wilson provided the new members information related to the scholarship program. 7. HUMAN RELATIONS ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT — For the benefit of the new members to the Commission, Sylvia Wilson explained the assistance available through the Human Relations Division and reported on the statistics from the October 2017 Performance Report. (A copy of the report is attached to the Minutes.) 8. CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT - Mr. Kramer asked Dr. Roy Stock to report on the Meet the Blind Jamboree he attended on October 14, 2017. 9.
