Agenda Item: IV. Public Comment Presenter/s: 1. Lisa Scheerer
2. Carter Tate
Comments:
1. Lisa Scheerer commented on the recent backup of traffic on the JFK Causeway Bridge during
springbreak. She was approaching the island with her children in the car when she was abruptly stopped
by backed up traffic just over the crest of the bridge. She also indicated that the engineering department
stated that the new light at Acquarius is not supposed to allow for this type of traffic backup according to
its on board radar&software.
2. Carter Tate spoke about the ongoing issue with campers on the causeway. He is concerned that families
are intimidated by the volume and repulsion of campers under the causeway bridge. Carter brought
pictures of camping trailers, trash and camping RV's dumping their waste into the ocean. This is a
safety concern and Mr.Tate would like the City to remedy this matter.
