served as chairperson for the Nominating Committee. Ms. Tinker presented the committee's
recommendation. Ms. Tinker stated the committee met immediately after the February 27,

Ms. Tinker continued that the committee's recommendation for Chairman and Vice Chairman
were Myron Grossman and Kevin Maraist, respectively. Ms. Tinker continued that both

approximately 90 percent completed. Ms. Macon went on to say that the production team
leader relayed to her that there were some minor adjustments to be made, but he would be
ready to give a presentation at the Landmark Commission's next meeting in April so
commissioners could view the video.

Ms. Tinker asked how will the videos get to the school districts and Ms. Macon answered that
the videos will be made available to the schools, but all of the logistics have not been worked
out. Ms. Tinker asked who would actually see that the videos were received and Ms. Macon
responded that Dr. Sharon Brower, former commissioner, would be the initial contact person
in coordinating the video distribution to the schools since she is in the school district's
administrative offices. Dr. Brower is now with the Museum Board and it is still possible that
she could be the person to coordinate this task.
Ms. Tinker asked if the Museum contributed money for the video production and Ms. Macon
answered that the money the Museum Board received went towards their special display
project. Ms. Macon continued that at that time, the Museum wanted a video to go along with
their display, not necessarily a full historical video as outlined by the Landmark Commission.
Ms. Tinker stated the production team filmed a segment of the video at the Centennial House.
The segment filmed was of Maria Von Blucher playing the piano and also included a clip
showing her opening a bread box with a rattle snake on it.
Mr. Grossman stated if the video could be placed where it needs to go, it would seem that
there would be a contact person in the district that could make sure that the videos were
distributed. Ms. Macon added that a copy of the video would be kept in the library and it
would be catalogued.
Mr. Phillips asked if the video would be used by CCISD only or would it be available to other
school districts and Ms. Macon answered that the video would be available to all the school
districts.
Dr. Moore stated he thought the video was to be included as a public relations tool for the City
in addition to the school districts. Ms. Macon stated that a copy of the video would be given to
the Chamber of Commerce for them to use in any way possible in their marketing campaigns
for the city. Dr. Moore suggested that a copy of the video be sent to the Lexington to be
shown to the tourists that come to the city. Dr. Moore went on to say he thought there would
be more money available for the video production and Ms. Macon explained that initially, the
Sesquicentennial Committee was trying to do major further raising, but that goal was not
achieved.
Mr. Grossman stated the Landmark Commission should write a letter to the community to let
them know that the videos are available. Mr. Grossman continued that a lot will be
determined upon what the final production of the video looks like. Ms. Macon reminded
commissioners that the original cost of the video was between $50,000 and $60,000 and that
amount of money was not raised. The video production was based on the $15,000 grant that
the Landmark Commission received from THC.
After all comments and discussions concluded, the meeting was dismissed at 5:30 p.m.
