DISCUSSION ITEM:
Presentation and Review of Completed Video Production: The Quadrant Production team
presented the completed video for commissioners to review and comment. After the video
presentation, the floor was opened for comments.
Ms. Tinker stated the video was excellent, but she was curious why the pictures shown in the
beginning of the video were not in chronological order. A member from the video production
team answered they were trying to create a montage with the pictures, but if the commission
preferred them to be in order, they would put them in order.
Dr. Moore asked why Del Mar College was not included in the video and Ms. Macon answered
that the video production was geared towards the school district students in the area of
history and social studies. The students would be taking a new State-mandated TEKS test
that would be more inclusive of history and social studies. There was a range of what time
periods would be included in the video and it was chosen to end around early 1970s.
Dr. Blanke asked if there would be a lesson plan for the video and Ms. Macon explained that
Dr. Sharon Brower, former Landmark Commission member, is targeted as the coordinator
between the school districts to ensure that the videos would be distributed and appropriately

implemented into the curriculum. Ms. Macon continued that it was hoped that Dr. Brower
would still be able to coordinate that effort.
Dr. Blanke also commented that since he has been in Corpus Christi, it has a typical feel of
being an all-Anglo city and he felt that the video should have included more Hispanic
photographs since it was the largest percentage of the population in the city.
After all comments and discussion concluded, it was a consensus of those commissioners
present that the video was excellent and they were very satisfied with the finished product.
The video production team spokesperson stated they would make the minor changes and add
the final credits to the video and return it to Ms. Macon. Ms. Macon stated staff would provide
the names and organizations that should be incorporated into the credits.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
