Call to Order
Mr, Flores called the ►neeting to order at 1:15 p.m..
Approval of Minutes
Motion for approval of the minutes of February 8, 2012 was made by Paul Altheide and seconded by Dr.
Elovitz. Motion passed unanimously.
Friends of Library
Mr. Canales reported that Friends received a check of $5,000 from Citgo Refinery and $1,000 check from
Trull Foundation for Greenwood children's programming. Betty Jean Longoria, Friends board member
secured the Citgo donation and staff submitted a grant to Trull Foundation. Mr. Flores requested for staff
to write a letter to Mrs. Longoria thanking her for requesting donations for the library and all library
board members can sign the letter. Mrs, Rogen reported that Friends are working on their newsletter,
Director's Report
Mr. Canales stated that next board meeting will be scheduled at Greenwood Senior Center and board
members will be able to do a walk through at Greenwood Library. Greenwood Library project is behind
schedule but City inspector stated that the contractor has plenty of time to catch up.
New Business
Motion was made by Dr. Garza and second by
month's meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
Natalie Rogen to excuse Ella Prichard from last
Mr. Canales distributed pages 30 — 33 of the Citizen Survey that was conducted by Texas A &M
Corpus Christi. The library received a 92% approval rating from the citizens, second to EMS.
`file library is doing very well considering the fiscal challenges it has faced.
