Members Present: Brian Solarek,Abigail Bair, Candace Hart,Jane Kratzig,Alice Nixon, and Harris Worchel
Members Absent: Juanita Hernandez and Natalie Rogen.
Staff Present: Laura Garcia, Library Director
Call to Order: Brian Solarek called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m.
Approval of Minutes
Motion to approve the October minutes was made by Jane Kratzig. Motion was seconded by Harris Worchel. Motion passed
unanimously.
Friend's Report
Mrs. Garcia reported that Friends will make an RFID presentation to the La Retama Club.
Director's Report
The library has been experiencing major internet service problems for several weeks. The IT department is hoping to have a
resolution by end of the week. To promote Corpus Christi Public Libraries marketing materials (activity books, magnets, cups
and other items) have been purchased.The items will be distributed at various events and outreaches.
Attendance at the Star Wars Reads Day event was 877 and 378 at La Musica del Sur de Tejas/Music of South Texas.
The 2017 Book Festival will be in April at La Retama Central Library planning meetings are being scheduled.
Information on the publication The Voice for America's Libraries was presented. Mrs. Garcia presented the 2016-2017
Library Business Plan. She provided information on how to access the Business Plan online and the Business Plans of other City
departments: City's website (www.cctexas.com) under the City Manager's page.
New Business
Motion to excuse absences:Abigail Bair for October and Natalie Rogen and Juanita Hernandez for November was made by
Harris Worchel and seconded by Jane Kratzig. Motion passed unanimously.
