Members Present: John Adams, Marie Adams, Roy Pell, Hal Suter, and Dan
Leyendecker
Members Absence: Rakesh Patel (1), Robert Cagle (1), Nils Stolzechner (1) and Dr.
Robert Vega (1)
Staff Present: Rene Garza, Marina Field Supervisor, and Cherie Edwards, Management
Aide
Call to Order: Chairman Pell called the regular meeting of the Marina Advisory
Committee to order at 5:37 p.m.
Action on Minutes: The motion was made by Ms. Adams, seconded by Mr. Suter, to
approve the Minutes from the 12/07/09 Regular Meeting as presented. The motion
passed unanimously.
Presentations and/or Public Comment: Richard Moore (R-11; LAB) wanted to know
what the Committee had plans for improvement. Mr. Adams requested feedback from
public on ways that they could improve.
Texas Parks and Wildlife — representative was not able to attend
Discussion Items and Possible Action Thereto:
Oil and Gas Committee Liaison — Ms. Adams had no update.
Friends of the Corpus Christi Municipal Marina Liaison — no update
Director's Report: Mr. Garza commented and/or reported on: (1) update on Texas
International Boat Show; (2) World Kite Board Championship; (3) Texas Gulf Coast
Melges 24 CCYC Update; (4) hired two night guards and new post for Marina Specialist
II for Marina Office; (5) Marina revenues, expenditures and occupancy; (6) City
removing cell phones from main account, pending approval from Assistant City Manager
to keep lines with department's own account due to more cost efficient plan; (7) Mr.
Adams suggested to receive The Dockline newsletter; (8) Mr. Leyendecker requested
plans on ways to beautify the People Street T -Head before this year's boat show.
Identify Items to be Placed on Next Agenda: Mr. Pell- estimated cost by Marina Staff
for participation with Texas International Boat Show; Mr. Suter- inquired if would
receive tickets to the boat show; Mr. Adams -requested an update on floating depris

catchment net; Mr. Suter -requested recycling program update started in Marina; Mr. Pell -
requested responsibility for Marina between Parks and Marina Staff
Confirmation for Next Meeting is: March 1, 2010.
Adjournment: As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:16 p.m.
