Call to Order: Vice -Chairman Adams called the regular meeting of the Marina Advisory
Committee to order at 5:39 p.m.
Action on Minutes: The motion was made by Mr. Cagle, seconded by Dr. Vega, to
approve the Minutes from the 04/05/10 Regular Meeting as presented. The motion
passed unanimously.
Presentations and/or Public Comment: None offered.
Discussion Items and Possible Action Thereto:
Marina Department's Towing Policy — Mr. Garza reported that the Marina was
approached regarding, but did not believe its towing services were competing with
similar services offered through Sea\\Tow and/or BoatUS. (Note: Representatives for
Sea\\Tow and/or BoatUS were not present.) Mr. Garza commented that the Marina
provides rescue, not salvage operations and actually refers customers seeking non-
emergency and/or salvage towing assistance to Sea\\Tow and/or BoatUS whose insurance
includes services which are available at rates less than what the Marina can perforin the
service. Discussion followed and the Committee commented they want to hear from
Sea\\Tow and/or Boat US representatives to this regard. The issue was tabled to a future
meeting.
Availabilitv/Use Status of Texas State Aauarium Docking Facilitv — Mr. Garza
commented that the Marina is waiting on Legal's input regarding their reviewing the
legality of John Litchfield mooring his for -hire vessel at docks belonging to the Texas
State Aquarium which are located within the Marina Complex. This issue is held
pending Legal's input and for further discussion at a future meeting.
Texas International Boat Show — Mr. Garza commented that attendance was estimated to
be 40,000, down from previous years' attendance, but that the City was waiting on
specific information from event coordinators. Mr. Garza commented that City Staff is
working with event coordinators regarding the legal matter relative to other vendor's
displacement during the event. SCANNED

Consideration of Destination Bayfront — After a brief discussion, the motion was made by
Mr. Suter, seconded by Mr. Adams, to table the matter until the Committee received
more concrete information regarding plans for the project.
Committee/Staff Reports:
Oil and Gas Committee Liaison — Ms. Adams had no update.
Friends of the Corpus Christi Municipal Marina — Chairman
Director's Report: Mr. Garza commented on and/or answered questions regarding: (1)
Texas International Boat Show and concurrent events i.e. power boat race, Pro-Redfish
Fishing Tournament, Buc Days, Kite Boarding on McGee Beach; (2) occupancy; (3)
hurricane preparedness meetings scheduled for 06/11/10 and 06/18/10; and (4) Storm
Drain outfall catchment status.
Identify Items to be Placed on Next Agenda: Mr. Adams requested an update on the
Texas International Boat Show.
Confirmation for Next Meeting is: August 2, 2010 (07/05/10 canceled as it falls on a
City Holiday).
Adjournment: As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:57 p.m.
