Curt Broomfield, Clare Lee, Bob Paulison, Stephen tten, William McDowell, Mona Baen, Hal Suter, Sharon Emerson,Ca pt.Monte Reitz Members Absent:none Staff Present. Peter M. Davidson, Marina Superintendent, Rene Garza, Marina Field Supervisor, Cherie Gutierrez, Management Assistant;Victoria Powell,Management Aide Call to Order-, Chairman Broomfield called the regular meeting of the Marina Advisory Committee to order at 5:32 p.m. Action on Minutes: The motion was made by Mr. Suter and seconded by Ms, Emerson to approve the minutes of the 07/07/14 Regular Meeting as presented;the motion passed unanimously. Presentations and/or Public Comment.none Discussion Items and Possible Action Thereto: Harbor Lights Boat Parade: Maria Pedraza and Alta Garcia gave background on Harbor Lights Festival advising this year will be&33 anniversary with the theme"Jingle Bell Rock". The event will be held an December 6,2014 and are actively seeking volunteers and sponsors.Mrs.Pedraza informed us that the tree will need to be replaced and has estimated cost of$75,000.Ms.Baen requested to forward sponsorship information to Committee for the to distribute to their contacts.Organize a 501 c1 Ms. Emerson made a motion to establish and organize a 50 1 c3 and was seconded by Mr.Suter,the motion passed unanimously.Marina District:Mr. Broomfield requested to approve to have this area named as Marina District,and wants to entertain a motion to do so.Ms. Lee made a motion to explore the establishment of Marina District with boundaries to be defined at a later time and Mr.McDowell seconded;the motion passed unanimously.Mr.Broomfield asked for volunteers for committee and Mr.Paulison, s®Bacn,and Ca pt.Reitz all volunteered.Mr. Davidson then volunteered to have DMD,CVB and SEA District to meet and further discuss. Committee/Staff Reports:none Director's Report: Mr.Davidson discussed status on new pier and demolition of R-Pier.Mr. Davidson commented on and/or answered questions regarding:Marina revenue/expenditures and occupancy. Identify foams to be placed on Next Agenda:Marina Advisory Committee Board Retreat Confirmation for Next Meeting is: Monday,October 6,2014.
