Monday,March 7,2016
Members Present: Curt Broomfield.Clare Lee, Bob Paulisun. Mona Baen.Greg Turman, William McDowell-Sharon Emerson, Ronald
Smith,Hal Suter

Staff Present: Peter Davidson.Marina Superintendent:gene Garza.Marina Field Supervisor;Cherie Gutierrez.Management Assistant:Jay
Ellington,interim Assistant City Manager
Call to Order:Chairman Broomfield called the regular meeting of the Marina Advisory Committee to order at 5:32 p.m.
Action on Minutes:The motion was made by Mr. Paulison and seconded by Ms.Emerson to approve the minutes of the 02/01/16 regular
meeting:the motion passed unanimously
Presentations and/or Public Comment:none
Discussion Items and Possible Action Thereto:Jiayfront Park/Marina Parking:Mr.Broomfield asked if the committee will be invited to
the next stakeholders meeting and Mr.Ellington confirmed they would he.Mr.Davidson discussed issues and additional work that will
need to be done before park is completed to help with traffic how as well as traffic lights.Mr.Ellington advised this action item on City
Council agenda for tomorrow business.an award for design build contract with Fulton CoastCon Construction for 5 million dollars,the
arca is from Furman Avenue to Coopers Alley. the next stake-holders meeting will be in the near future with the design build firm.to
discuss any changes and will determine costs;they will then prioritize in order to stay within the budget.Mr.Ellington stated the project
will be approximately 425 days.Marine Emcrgenty Response Vessel MMERV):Mr.Davidson advised that the vessel was originally
designed to pick up spilled oil and was here to test out picking up trash from water and has the capability of several beneficial uses.The
City is in the process of writing a$700.000 grant through I lorizon Oil Spill funding that%%ill he provided by the State of Texas.Mr.Smith
discussed concerns he had with the prototype.Mr.Davidson states the vessel will return on March 15th and will be working with Texas
A&M Oil Spill if anyone warns to see in operation./Friends of thy Corpus Christi Marina District update:Ms.Emerson advised that Mr.
Bell will have account set up by the end of this month,and will still owe his fees to be paid at a later date.Mr.Davidson thanked the
Corpus Christi Yacht Club for sponsoring the 50 Id in order to proceed with the set-up of the fund.Mr.Davidson suggested to begin
thinking of how to get public involved and to procure funding and/or grants.Ms.Emerson stated that once a tat id number is established a
board will be created in order to oversee the fund.Mr.D avidum advised that Mr.Edlington has knowledge on working with guidelines for
relationship between nun-profit and governmental agency.Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for R pier:Ms.Linen informed committee that
ceremony is scheduled for Thursday,April 21"from 5-7pm;she has been confirmed with Mayor's schedule and is working with CVD.
DMD and Young Business Individuals with the invite.Mr.Davidson is going to reserve the Corpus Christi Yacht Club to have the
function there after ribbon cutting.Mr.Davidson is asking for Mayor and representative from the Ed Rachel Foundation to say a few
words,and will also invite U.S.Fish and Wildlife and Texas Parks and Wildlife.to recognize efforts w ith supporting the creation of R
pier.Proposed Date For Committee to tourMarina via boat:Mr.lir omfield stated one of his best meetings was on boat to tour the Marina
and was shown R-pier and discussed problems at the time.Mr. Broomfield is requesting May 2d°.for tentative date.of meeting as a good
opportunity to sec first-hand issues going on.
