Monday, February 6, 2017

Staff Present: Rene Garza, Marina Field Supervisor, Leah Hughen, Management Aide
Call to Order: Chairman Broomfield called the regular meeting oftlie Marina Advisor* Committee to order at
5:33 p.m.
Action on Minutes: The motion was inade by Mr. Paulison and seconded by Ms. Emerson to appro%e the mintit es
of the 11/07/16 regular meeting: the motion passed unanimously.
Presentations and/or Public Comment: Chairman Broomfield brought up old business in reference to Pier 99
and its condition being a possible liability to the City.
Discussion Items and Possible Action Thell Comus Christi Marina District foundation undate: The
foundation did not meet in December as planned. Tile first meeting is rescheduled for March 8, 2017 at 5:30 p.m,
Ms. Baen corif irined that Ms. Emerson vk ill take lite minutes at the meeting. Ms. Emerson stated that the by-laws
wi if be ready by lite March meeting. Discuss ontions to fill eni Marina Adviso!3Committee position: Ms.
Emerson stated Mr. Davidson spoke with Cathy Harrison about joining the board. Mr. Gar/a explained Mr.
Davidson approached several people that were unable to join due to busy schedules. Mr. Broornfield proposed
sending a flormal letter to tile new general manager at Joe's Crab Shack to see if lie is interested in joining tile
board. Discuss ontions for introducing iic%% City Council members to Marina: Mr. Broomfield proposed taking
three Cit) Council members at a time ona boat ride around the marina to show them our facilities.
Committee/Staff Reports: none
Director's Report: Mr. Garza commented on and /or answered questions regarding: Marina revenue. expendituresm
and occupancy. Mr. Garza commented on the maintenance projects that have been completed and that are still in
progress. Mr. Garza explained that the Marina is getting ready for several regattas as well as Spring Break. Ms.
Emerson asked about the Harvest Moon Regatta status. Mr. Garza stated we are in competition with Port Aransas
to become the finishing point of the Harvest Moon Regatta.
