VI. Public Comment
VII. Public Comment: Dr. C.Campos briefed and invited all to attend a Healthy Fair, sponsored by UTCO on 9/12/10 at the
current Farmer's Market location on Everhart. Medical and nursing students would be doing medical checks.
J. Bell briefed on the upcoming Diabetes Walk, scheduled for October 9 at Whataburger Field. Opening ceremony at 8
am, a 3.8 mile walk. Last year over 2,500 people participated including the City of Corpus Christi.
VIII. Business for Discussion with Possible Action
o Bay Area Fellowship's"I Dare You to Change"Challenge Presentation: Trish Frazier, Public Relations for Bay Area
Fellowship briefed the MFC on the challenge: 2,300 individulas have taken the challenge which encompasses faith,
family, fitness and church community. This initiative has received national exposure on Fox&friends. In the
month of September, all facilities would be free to use for a week.

o Governor's Liaison Report: Active 20/20- Rick Hayley: Lucy Baines Johnson was a speaker for a recent summit.
Hayley suggested that we show the state how we are supporting local events and urged support for upcoming
agenda items.
o Approval of Guidelines for Mayor's Fitness Council ("MFC") Support of Local Programs which address MFC goals-

o Update on Paddle Prix-Stacie Talbert, updated the MFC on flyers and asked for suggestions for marketing. This
event would roll into a campaign for the MFC or could be used as a campaign. Commercial would be produced and
include members of the MFC. Electronic flyer would be disseminated shortly.
■ Motion made to up sponsorship monies from $2,500 to $5,000 as other sponsorships were coming
at that level: V. Garza

IX. Items for next month's agenda: Workshop for subcommittees, Farmer's Market updates, resend budget breakdowns
to the MFC.
