III. Approval of Minutes and Absences of June 14, 2012 and September 13, 2012
Elizabeth Feeney indicated she was listed present twice in 6/14 minutes

IV. Public Comment

V. Business for Discussion with Possible Action:
A. HEB Community Challenge Update
Corpus Christi in fourth place among large cities; Heartwalk was a success with Mayor Joe participating
and speaking to crowd. MFC encouraged to have organizations and individuals register their events

B. ACHIEVE Community Action Plan 2013 Update
Updated plan submitted to NRPA on 9/28; making progress on each of the three goals; Goal #1— hike
and bike trails, complete streets are listed on the 2012 Bond ballot; Goal #2 — Youth Advisory
Commission is working on their presentation to expand the smoking ban to include parks; plan to
make a presentation to MFC in next several months; Goal #3 — Wade and Megan volunteered to assist
with development of sub -grant program for community gardens

C. 2012 Bond Propositions - Update
Stacie updated MFC on the bond propositions — complete street design required of all street
improvements listed; Prop 4 for Parks and Recreation facilities includes $1.5 million for hike and bike
trails. Rodney suggested developing a Prop 4 page on Facebook to get the word out and educate the
voters. Stacie offered to address any organization or club that is interested in understanding more
about the bond.

Wade updated MFC on website development with MMcCloud.
VII. Staff Liaison's Report
Corpus Christi Paddle Prix will be held October 27. Race and rally end at La Bonte Park. Information
about the race sent to MFC to spread the word for participation.
MFC 5K to be held on Sunday February 24 Rodney is working with Freddy Ramirez on coordination of
race and with the Coastal Bend Foundation to serve as 501c3.
American Cancer Society — Cancer Prevention Study 3. Troy Riggs approved use of Basement Training
room for study on February 22. We will need a few volunteers to help with that day. Stacie will
coordinate with Health department for technical assistance.
