Dr. Ana Paez, Pediatric Endocrinologist, Driscoll Children's Hospital. Connecting with community to
provide Driscoll's Way to Go program—holistic approach to battling diabetes by integrating nutrition
and exercise into treatment plans and hoping to include entire families (when children come in to the
office many of the family members who accompany them are obese as well). Dr. Paez is going to stay
connected with the MFC and plug us into DCH's community forums on diabetes/obesity.
V. Presentations and Possible Action
A. USTA Wellness and Fitness Initiatives
Terry Sweet(past president of Corpus Christi Tennis Association) made a presentation to MFC
on CCTA's effort to integrate the USTA Wellness and Fitness Initiatives into local tennis
community. CCTAonline.org provides information about the menu of programs and events
from Wellness Warriors, 10 and under program. Questions from MFC included—Do you have
resources to provide kids rackets?Yes, $40 entry into the program gets them a racket. CCTA is
open to finding grants or partners that would provide entry fees for kids not in Tennis Success
