I. Call to Order—12:05pm
II. Roll Call of Members—

III. Approval of Minutes of April 10,2014 RR motioned; RHseconded;All in favor
IV. Public Comment—
In attendance—Aaron Villalobos from Long Live Texans
V. Presentations and Possible Action
None
VI. Business for Discussion with Possible Action:
A. Review and Approve Healthy Business Partner Applications—5 applications submitted;4 qualified
(CH2MHILL, Brinca!, City of Corpus Christi, Platypus Fitness Center and Outback CrossFit); 1 put on hold
until next review and scheduled for Mayor's Fitness Council counseling and support for improvement
(Smoothie King). Peters motioned; Cook seconded;All in Favor
B. Mayor's Fitness Council Reappointments LaPointe will not seek reappointment; Peters undecided;
Richardson and Hayley seek reappointment. Garcia not present during discussion will follow up via
email.
C. National Men's Health Week-June 91h—15th—send proclamation to City Council;
Hayley motioned; Lapointe seconded;All in Favor
VII. Chairman's Report—
A. Kite Festival Planning -assistance from TAMUCC with planning; no vendors but will sell t-shirts and
kites; need to set up meeting with Anaya, Cook and Gonzales
B. Water Stations Along Bayfront—Spenst showed a picture;will start looking at planning a few to go in
parks across from seawall
C. Proposed Initiative—trying to simplify effort to just track pounds lost. Spenst to meet with Mayor.
Anaya to track down app or website to track weight loss.
VIII. Staff Liaison's Report
A. Walk to Be Well—May
Dr. Ana Paez was featured doctor. Good conversation with participants
B. Data Collection Project Report
Will share with MFC and invite to community forum
C. Leadership Bicycle Ride
May 28th in the morning with city council and bicycle/pedestrian subcommittee. Lapointe will
participate. Richardson and Cook may do so as well.
D. Jessica Weizer's presentation in July—community garden curriculum
