I. CALL TO ORDER—called to order at 12:15 p.m. by Kimberly Cook.
II. ROLL CALL—The recording secretary called roll and announced quorum Yes
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Regular meeting, April 14, 2016— Misty Kesterson moved to approve the
minutes as submitted. Jacqueline Hamilton seconded. Minutes were unanimously approved.
IV. Public Comment— None
V. BUSINESS FOR DISCUSSION WITH POSSIBLE ACTION
a) Dilworth Park Grant—Parks & Rec Beautify Corpus Christi submitted a grant to Kaboom! and
Success by Six the grant was for up to $300,000. There is a Design Day scheduled for August
and a Build Day scheduled for October. MFC will provide a healthy breakfast and lunch to the
volunteers.
• Robert Woods Johnson grant—submit action for grant by Jacque Hamilton. Jacque
Hamilton motioned, Ana Paez second. All in favor.
b) Tiffany Montemayor, Program Coordinator with Tobacco Prevention and Control Coalition
• Handout of Tobacco Free Ordinance for review and suggested changes
Jacque Hamilton motioned, Misty Kesterson second. All in favor.
c) Tobacco Free Parks Policy-Council members discussed adopting a policy to prohibit smoking
in public parks. Ana Paez suggested the Council make a presentation before City Council to
bring awareness to the matter and to the Mayor's Fitness Council and their work. Becky Perrin
will find the previous policy drafted and send to Council members for their review.
d) People for Bikes Grant Opportunity- Council members briefly discussed the 10,000 matching
grant and a few project possibilities. Item tabled until the May meeting and Misty Kesterson will
bring more information for further discussion.

• Jacque Hamilton motioned, Rick Hayley second. All in favor to submit application
e) Approve 2016 Spring Class of Healthy Business Partners
• Bradley's—missing some pages— No
• Your Personal Best Training Center— provisional for Fall 2016
f) Traffic Engineering Presentation on Possible Siclovia Sites— no shows, move to June
VI. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS
a) Programs and Events—met and decided on November 12th for Kites and Bikes Festival.
Changing location to North Beach, Kim will type minutes and duty assignments. There will be a
Siclovia and the kite guy is scheduled to come.
b) Finance & Marketing — no report
• Stacie will schedule with our department attorney
• Jacque and Victor are members of this group
c) Research and Policy— no report

a) Healthy Business Partners Tabulations
• Application being revamped, Jacque is researching other applications
