Call to Order Meeting was called order at 2:07 p.m. II. Roll Call of Board Members Board Members Present Mike Wanzer,Julio Sanchez,Karim Salighedar, David Mathews, Bruce Hawn,Jim Malay, Clinton Bailey, Stacey Gallagher and Billy Largin Board Members Absent: Sean Rodriguez and Bud O'Bryan City Staff Present: Elsa Martinez, Stephen Draper,Stacey Barrera and Michelle Barrera 111. Address Absences from Regular Board Meeting, May 12,2011 OMr. Gallagher made the first motion to excuse Bruce Hawn's absence from this meeting and Mr.Mathews made the second motion;all were in favor. Mr.Hawn made the first motion to excuse Mr. David Mathews absence from this meeting and Mr. Largin made the second motion;all were in favor. IV. Approval of Minutes from Regular Board Meeting,May 12,2011 Mr. Largin made the fest motion to approve the minutes as written. At Sanchez made the second motion;all were in favor. V. Review, consider, discuss, and possible action concerning proposed Draft Ordinance adopting 2009 International Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code, International Fuel/Gas Code, International Energy Code,International Residential Code,and Local Amendments Thereto Mr. Draper gave an update on the adoption of the codes and stated they are still under Legal Dept. review. Right now, the goal date is sometime in August of this year for submission to Council. Mr. Draper stated they should have something to present to the Board for review within the next few meetings. VI. Bold Future Initiative/Green Building Code Miss Michelle Barrera gave a brief history on this item and how/why it came about. She © stated it is broken down into categories of Well Planned Region, Vibrant Economy and Sustainable Environment. SCANNED Minutes of Plumbing/Mechanical Advisory Board Regular Meeting July 14,2011 Page 2 Mr. Draper said that the mission/objective of the item is for the Board to compare them with our Building Codes to ensure there are no conflicts; that they are in sync with inspections/contractors/industry. Once they are reviewed their results/recommendation will be forwarded to the committee for adoption. New code books were issued to Board members and they briefly looked over them to determine what chapters were relevant to the Board/City's environment. VII. Identify items to be placed on next Agenda The Board and City Staff had no new items to place on the Agenda for the next meeting. VIII. Building Official Report Mr. Draper reported that the department has hired a new Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector and his official first day of employment was June 21r;he is still in training. He is scheduled to take the State exam to be certified as an inspector the first week of August IX. Public Comment No one addressed the Board during public forum. J X. Adjournment Mr. Mathews made the first motion to adjourn the meeting;Mr. Wanzer made the second motion. Meeting adjourned at 2:38 p.m. Presidi Officer J
