MECHANICAL/PLUMBING ADVISORY BOARD
MINUTES
JULY 11,2002

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ronald Klepac at 2:00 p.m. The next item of
business was roll call. Mr. Patrick Scarpulla and Mr. Clarence Neal were absent. Motion made by
Mr. Boatright, seconded by Mr. Akin and passed unanimously to excuse all absences member from
the previous meeting.
The next item of business was approval/or correction of the minutes from the previous
meeting (July 11,2002). Motion made, seconded by all and passed unanimously to accept minutes
as submitted.
The next item of business was review,discussion,and possible action on the Adoption of the
2000 International Energy Conservation Code and Chapter 11 of the 2000 International Residential
Code for One and Two Family Dwellings. There were no discussion on the codes. There were
comments by Ruth Blake, Red Akin, Daniel Graf, Ray Johnson, and Robert Knowles on the
sprinkler system. Mr.Akin made motion to leave the sprinkler system where they belong, seconded
by Mr. Johnson &Mr. Boatright. Mr. Sosa presented copies of the fax letter received from a Title
30,Texas Administrative Code - Chapter 344, a newsletter from the Carrollton Building Official on
their enforcement of the Energy Code.

The next item of business was the Building Official Report. Mr. Sosa provided an update on the
move to the Frost Bank. He also informed the board the department hired an electrical inspector-
Manuel Cellar, Crawford Taylor leaving, Rudy Flores- plumbing inspector, James Pendleton-
backflow inspector. It will be late October or mid November 2002.
The next item of business was discussion of pending,and/old or new business items. There
was none.
The next item of business was petition from the audience. There was none. Motion made
to adjourn the meeting, seconded by all and passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 4:00
p.m.
