Johnson, Jr. John Tucker, Jr. Bud O'Bryant Patrick Scarpulla Mody Boatright Clarence Neal Board Member Absent: Sam Beecroft Staff Members Present: Pete Cavazos, Plans Examiner Coordinator • Betty J. Hines, Recording Secretary The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ronald Klepac at 2:00 p.m. The next item of business was roll call. Mr. Sam Beecroft was absent. Motion made and seconded by all and passed unanimously to excuse all absent members from the previous meeting. The next item of business was approval/correction of the minutes from the previous meeting. Motion made and seconded by all and passed unanimously to accept minutes as submitted. The next item of business was a variance - Appeal #M 02-02 - Wil Brannan, 600 Leopard Street- request for a technical ruling to Section 506.1 - exhaust outlet of the City of Corpus Christi Mechanical Code.The floor was opened up to Mr. Wil Brannan. Several questions were asked by board members. What is the height of the hood? Mr. Knowles main concern was would it be a nuisance to the public. Mr. Johnson wanted to know if the city would be liable if something happened. Mr. Tony Pletcher, attorney in the same building, was present and he had no objection to the hood being built. There were none. The next item of business was a discussion of board members concerns regarding new business,pending new business, old business and items for future agenda. Where are we on the codes? When will the city hire a new Chief Mechanical Inspector? Discussion if the board will have a meeting in December 2002. Motion made by Mr. Boatright, seconded by Mr. 0' Bryant not to have a meeting unless there is a petition, and passed unanimously. The next item of business was petitions from the audience. There were none. Motion made by Mr. Knowles, seconded by Mr. Akin and passed unanimously.
