Response: Yes. Are Brown Bag sessions posted on the City web site? Response:No. Flyers were sent out and posted by the supply houses. How are the A/C Contractors being affected? Response: The biggest deal was the Energy Code. There were changes to the installation of systems, duct work, and ceilings. The transition was not difficult because they were aware of it for the past 3 years. The contractors stepped up quickly after the code was adopted. When will there be an A/C Brown Bag Session? Response: The first meeting will be through the local ACCA in mid October at Holiday Inn- Emerald Beach. Donna has put together two days of various speakers and I will be there to give a presentation on UL 181 requirements. Are we still going to have to come into the office to pay for Taps? Can we get an account set up for that? Response: Good question, I will check into that. Suggestions from the Board: • An email box should be set up for inspectors to check messages for the day • Phones from T-Mobile have PDA's M&lani caliPlumbi rip board Minutes Sepi ember 9,2004 Pape 2 cr3 BUILDING OFFICIAL'S REPORT Given By: Joseph Elliott We have been working on getting real time inspections for this next fiscal year. This will allow the inspectors to immediately enter inspection results while they are out in the field. Contractors will be able to check the status of their permits. The department has been collecting energy code fees and has had large projects coming in and money is starting to flow. We are trying to de-emphasize the inspection tag because the result needs to be in the system. The inspector will issue the results and the system will be able to provide a time and date that it was entered. We will be able to track inspections more accurately. • Red Akin resigned in July and will no longer be with this advisory board • Would appreciate recommendations to fill the A/C contractor position • Escrow Accounts will be set up for contractors FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS There are none at this time. PETITIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE There were none. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made to adjourn by Scott Corliss and seconded by Mody Boatright.
