Motion carried. Board member term expirations and eligible reappointments • Board has one home builder vacant position which was J.R. Tucker's • The following positions are up for reappointment—one Mechanical Engineer, one Master Plumber, one Air Conditioning Contractor, and one Home Builder • Has commitments from each of the individuals that have stated that they wish to be reappointed • Reappointed positions require one additional Bio form • Vacant positions require two Bio forms • Board members in the past have agreed to take Bio forms to people in their respective trades to solicit the board's positions • Bio forms will be emailed to board members • The Citizen At Large position has not been filled • Robert Knowles, former Chairman is eligible for reappointment since he has been off the board for one year now, and he could fill the Citizen At Large position if reappointed • The third Plumber position can be filled by a Journeyman or Master plumber • Left message for J.R. Tucker last week and has not heard anything • Anticipates to have all positions filled by the next scheduled board meeting b. Appointment of Chairman and Vice Chairman • Mody Boatright made a motion to appoint Scott Corliss as Chairman. The motion was seconded by James Norman. The motion carried. • Bob Hughes made a motion to appoint Mike Wanzer as the Vice Chairman. The motion was seconded by James Horman. The motion Carried c. Board charged with soliciting new members • Bio forms are available through the City Secretary's Office or online at www.cctexas.com • Board members suggested that Julie McCoy send an email with the Bio form as an attachment • Email addresses and contact phone numbers were verified and updated for each board member INTRODUCTION TO GARY SMITH,ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY • New Joseph Harney • Has worked with several municipalities • Has had the pleasure of working with various building departments and appreciates what the board members are doing • Board members are required to attend one hour of public information training which can be done on the online website, scheduling it through the City Secretary's Office, or place an item on your next agenda saying that you appoint the City Secretary's office as your designated Public Information Coordinator • Open Meetings training is also required of board members • Board members have one year to complete the training • New appointment have only 90 days as of January 1, 2006 to complete the training sessions MmhaninlPlumbin0 Beard Mad" !emery 11.S6 Pagc I of 4.0 V Board member and staff discussion of any pending, or new business to be put on future agendas • Board would like to have the Open Meetings training session during the March meeting and the meeting will be mandatory FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Place the open meetings training on the March 2006 agenda. PETITIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE Jeri L.S. Morey, Architect discussed her views and read rules from the code book on compliance alternatives,repairs, and alterations of the 2003 International Existing Building Code.Ms.Morey was seeking the board's approval to amend the code. Suggested that all board members study the 2006 Comments by: Joe Elliott, Chief Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector • Do not see any relevance in the 2003 existing Building Code for this board • This board does not review the Building Code • Solicitation would take place outside this board meeting Clarification needed: • Board does not have the precedence to consider amending any other code such as the Building Code • The Building Code takes precedence over any other code • If for instance there is a conflict on plumbing fixtures between the Plumbing and Building Code, the Building Code takes precedence because it is more stringent • This board would make recommendations for amendments on anything that deals with the Plumbing/Mechanical aspects ADJOURNMENT A motion was made to adjourn by Scott Corliss and seconded by James Homan.
