MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MECHANICAL PLUMBING ADVISORY BOARD APRIL 14, 1994 BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Richard Miller, Chairman Lew Larson, Vice-Chairman Mike Sutton Zernie Smith Ronald Murray Rob Hurst Richard Rector BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Reed Glendenning Ronnie Marek Paul Brunsvold STAPP MEMBERS PRESENT: Lelland Kirbow, Chief Mechanical Plumbing Inspector Olga Carrion, Clerk Typist II Chairman, Mr. Miller, called the meeting to order at 2:03 p.m. , in the Conmittee Room on the first floor of City Hall. The first item of business was the approval or corrections of the minutes of March 10, 1994. No action was taken. The next item of business was the discussion of possible amendments to the Mechanical Plumbing Code. A motion was made by Mr. Larson, seconded by Mr. Hurst and passed unanimously to amend section 401.1 and 401.2 of the Plumbing Code to allow the use of 1/4 bends in lieu of short sweeps in plastic drainage systems. Water heaters and storage tanks shall be so located and connected that they will be readily accessible for observation, maintenance serving and replacement. Mr. Abey Flores, addressed the board on behalf of the Texas Air Condition Association, he expressed the associations concerns regarding the City's Code Requirements and the City's office procedure of obtaining a Mechancial Plumbing permit. He added that they would like to appoint a committee within their association and bring their recommendations regarding those two issues to the board.
