Regular Meeting
Thursday July 26, 2012 4.00 p.m. CITY SECRETARY'S OFFlCE
Lindale Senior Center
313 5 Swantner Dr., Corpus Christi, TX
Members of the audience will be provided an opportunity to speak during
the meeting. A recording is made of the proceedings. You must first identify
yourself by name and address. Then state your point as briefly as possible
when addressing the committee. Presentations will be limited to three (3 )
minutes.
Any person who plans to attend this meeting and may need accommodation
is requested to contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (361) 826-
3147 at least 48 hours in advance so that the appropriate arrangements can
be made.
Minutes
I. Call to Order- Meeting was called to order at 4:05 p.m. by
Debbie Crites.
11. Roll Call of Members- Members present: Marie Partington,
Shirley Selz, Shirley Tipton, Isabel Odeh, Monica Rodriguez,
Martha Wilde, Debbie Crites and Stephen Isenhour, visitor
from Legacy Hospice.
III. Approvals of Minutes- Minutes were approved. Shirley Selz
motioned and Shirley Tipton seconded motion.
N. Actions on Absent Members- No members absent.
V. Public Comment: No Public Comment
Please be advised that the Open Meetings Act prohibits the
Senior Companion Program Advisory Committee from
responding and discussing your comments at length. The law
only authorizes them to do the following:
1. Make a statement of factual information,
2. Recite an existing policy in response to the inquiry; or
3. Advise the citizen that this subject will be placed on an
agenda at a later date.
4. Discuss ways about fundraising for the Program.
VI. Results of Recognition Event Survey- Suggestions for next
event include changing the time of food delivery so that it
comes sooner. Shorten length of event to 2 V2 hours. Serve
dessert during the awards portion of the ceremony. Use the
Mirador as a possible location for next event.
VII. Plans for 2012/2013 Events- Thanksgiving Celebration will be
held at Lindale Senior Center. Looking into Mirador for
possible location of Christmas and Awards event.

2. Update on Christmas party
