Members of the audience will be provided an opportunity to speak during
the meeting. A recording is made of the proceedings. You must it identify
yourself by name and address. Then state your point as briefly as possible
when addressing the committee. Presentations will be limited to three (3)
minutes. Any person who plans to attend this meeting and may need
accommodation is requested to contact the Parks and Recreation Department
at (3 61) 826-3147 at least 48 hours in advance sofa the appropriate
arrangements can be made.

all to Order- Meeting was called to order at 4:10
Monica Rodriguez.
II. Roll Call of Members- Members present: Shirley Selz, Shirley
Tipton, Isabel Ode h, Monica Rodriguez, Linda Ramirez,
Debbie Crites and Stephen Isenhour, visitor from Legacy
Hospice.
III. Approvals of Minutes- Minutes were approved with corrections
by Shirley Selz motioned and Isabel Odeh seconded motion.
IV. Actions on Absent Members- Martha Wild and Marie Parington
were excused.
V. Public Comment: No Public Comment
Please be advised that the Open Meetings Act prohibits the
Senior Companion Program Advisory Committee from
responding and discussing your comments at length. The law
only authorizes them to do the following:
1. Make a statement of factual information,
2. Recite an existing policy in response to the inquiry; or
3. Advise the citizen that this subject will be placed on an
agenda at a later date.
4. Discuss ways out fundraising for the Program.
VI. tea past Trainings/Events Companions has included-
Senior Law, a seminar to educate on legal matters and wills.
The Mayor, Nelda Martinez, along with the it Council
recognized the Senior Core with a proclamation. And an RSVP
recognition event was held on April 25, 2013.
VII. May 6, 2013 Picnic at Heritage Park- Event will be combined
with RSVP and will be held from 12pm-2:30pm. Roy Tipton
will host entertainment. A member's spouse will prepare the
BBQ on the premises. And there will be door prizes.
VIII. May 15, 2013 Hooks Baseball game- Event is free to the Senior
Companions and RSVP programs. Guests will be charged
$5.00. SCP will throw the first pitch of the game. T-shirts will
be available for $10.00. Game begins at 7:05 pm.
IX. Recognition Event-Scheduled for June 27, 2013. Location is
still TBD. Event will be from 4-7pm. And Central Kitchen will
provide the food. Picture slide show possibility for ice breaker.
X. Agenda for Next Meeting-
1. Update on Beyond the Call of Duty Awards.
2. Companion of the Year Award.
