Regular Meeting
August 13, 2015

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Roll Call of Members: Members present: Tami Longino, Isabel Odeh, Shirley Selz, and Sherry
DuBois, Shirley Tipton, Veronica Suniga and Veronica Marsello. Members absent: none. Staff
present: Debbie Crites.
Approval of Minutes: No minutes were presented
New Business for Discussion and Possible Action:
Committee Appointments— Debbie Crites stated that 4 of the existing committee members are
up for reappointment. They are: Veronica Marsello, Sherry DuBois, Shirley Selz and Tami
Longino. She asked each of them if they would like to remain on the committee for new terms.
All of listed above expressed their desire to stay on the SCP Advisory Committee.
Select Officers—Tami Longino, committee chair, asked committee members if anyone wanted
to be the chair. It was a unanimous decision that Tami remain as SCP Committee Chair. Ms.
Longino also asked for nominations for Vice-chair. It was a unanimous decision to reappoint
Sherry DuBois as the chair.
Event— Debbie Crites provided an update as to the items the committee chairs have dropped
off for the silent auction.
Public Comment: Members of the audience were provided an opportunity to speak during the
meeting. They were advised to identify themselves first by stating their name and address.
They were advised that the Open Meetings Act prohibits the Senior Companion Program
Advisory Committee from responding and discussing your comments at length. The law only
authorizes them to do the following:
1. Make a statement of factual information,
2. Recite and existing policy in response to the inquiry; or
3. Advise the citizen that this subject will be places on an agenda at a later date,
4. Discuss ways about fundraising for the program.
There were no public comments.
Next Meeting—The next meeting is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. p.m., Wednesday, August 9.
Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at approximately 4:45 p.m.
