I. CALL TO ORDER:
The regular meeting of the Sister City Committee was called to order by Alan Thornburg at 6:08
pm.
II. ROLL CALL: Tess Allan called roll. A quorum was met with 9 members present.
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: John Sloan moved to accept the minutes as submitted. Mark
Bradsher seconded. Minutes were approved.
IV. FINANCIAL REPORT: Current available funds is $5,277.77.
V. PUBLIC COMMENT: None
VI. Liaison Reports
A. Yokosuka, Japan — Heather Moretzsohn reported that the 2014 Exchange Student, Toki
Takemoto, has sent word that he has applied to Texas A&M Corpus Christi as one of his
college applications.
B. Agen, France— Mark Bradsher brought a sympathy card and a Christmas card for the Agen
Sister City Committee, all members present signed the cards for Mark to send.
C. Keelung, Taiwan — None
D. Playa del Carmen, Mexico— None
E. Toledo, Spain — Yvonne has resigned from the SCC. John Sloan has agreed to serve as
the Toledo Liaison.
VIII. Task Manager Reports
A. Publicity — As Yvonne has resigned from the SCC, Wan Sun Kim has agreed to serve as
the Publicity Chair. Westi Horn has agreed to serve as the backup.
B. Curriculum/Training — As Yvonne has resigned from the SCC, John Maldonado has
agreed to serve as the Curriculum/Training Chair.
C. Fundraising - Lee White submitted a Fundraising Taskforce Report highlighting the SCC
Face Book page, plans for a fundraising event in the spring, and requesting that committee
members consider donating $25 a month to the SCC.
Wan Sun Kim reported that she has received an information letter from Alan regarding the
Sister City Committee so that she can share it with potential donors.
Lee will draft a letter to the Coastal Bend Community Foundation requesting funds for the
Sister City. Heather asked that a copy also go to the Downtown Rotary Club.
Coretta Graham entered meeting at 6:21 p.m.
D. Activities - None
E. Selection — Westi asked that everyone touch base with the Counselor they have been in
contact with as a friendly reminder.
F. Student Service - None
John Maldonado entered meeting at 6:23 p.m.

The next SCC meeting will be moved to Jan 12th
XI. City Staff Report
Reba George reported that Director, Michael Morris, has accepted a job in Annapolis, MD.
and that a new Interim Director has not been appointed.
XII. ADJOURNMENT: Alan Thornburg adjourned the meeting at 6:26 pm.
