SISTER CITY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
MONDAY, JANUARY 23, 2017 @ 12:00 P.M.

called the meeting to order at 12:06 p.m.

III. Public Comment Tess Alan, representative for the City of CC Parks &
Rec department was welcomed to the meeting.
The Sister City Program meetings will take place every
forth(4t') Monday of every month as agreed to by the
committee in the October 2016 meeting.

powerpoint presentation regarding the Sister Cities
Program which included the Student Exchange
registration process and what the program entails was
held. Heather stated the students whose applications
were received would be interviewed within the next
couple of weeks.
Discussion was held regarding the Sister Cities that are Teresa Rodriguez will be
interested in participating. scheduling meetings with
representatives of the cities
for the benefit the Sister
Cities Program relationship.
Heather noted that this program can only move forward
with the approval of the Mayor of Corpus Christi.
V. Other Business Discussion was held regarding the annual Sister City
events:
- Annual Sister City Conference
- Expo (in Laredo)
- Sister City Convention(next one in Georgia)
VI. New Business The committee agreed that this date/time will be kept
as voted on in the initial meeting, the 4"'Monday of
each month at Noon.
Once we have Mayoral approval, a discussion will be
held regarding a Press Conference for the Student
Exchange initiatives. Look for people who have
experienced the Student Exchange program and ask
them to provide testimonials.
Work plans for each committee member will also be
discussed and distributed in the near future.
At the next meeting, discuss a Community Leadership
visit to Monterrey, Sister City.
X. Adjourn The meeting was adjourned at 12:49 p.m. A motion to adjourn was
made by Bill Pettus and
