Chair Robert SaIdana called the Commission meeting to order at 2:31 p.m. Commission In e yak a,Edd Price, Elena Buentello, Leo Rios, Wilfredo iver ,Dennis Miller. Commission e s t: Sett Harris excused absence,Gretchen Arnold excused absence,and Anthony GavIlk excusedabsence. Reports f Chair,Standing Committees&Staff. } Chair—RobertSalclana reported of the current hit and run accident whichinclude three Individuals. Bicycle ri i report. c) Mobility Planningi ) Dennis Miller reported that the committee s put in lots f work into Mobility annual report, unfortunately some members have been out of town.The committee will postpone a draftreport to the Commission another month. Traffic Safety Report—Lt.Soza briefedCommission rent is Safety report which included 860 DWI arrests, three ar to date intoxicated man slaughter.The hit which occurred the 3900 block of Ayers was poorly lit n e pedestrian was not at crosswalk. The new Onea y Fannin Elementary School went smoothly. ro Chong added that as of July 2016 there has been 1169 hit& run accidents. Captain Breedlove ill be moving to the NarcoticsDivision and Captain ald Moore will be assigned to Traffic. e) City Traffic Engineer Report(CTE)—Raymond Chang informs Commission of the recent completion of the Waldron Road project. Corpus Christi Is ranked the 31 best city In USA to drive in. VI. New Business: a. Williams Drive Proposed Urban Transportation Plan Amendment—Raymond Chong presentation to TAC included the prosed deletion of the Williams Drive between Rodd Field and Lexington Road.Dan McGinn from Development Services also briefed Commission why it is not suitable to approve amendment.Public comments from Mr.Tim Clower includes a power point presentation of the positive effect which will come out oft a deletion is includes new development to our City.Staff recommends denial of this ordinance amendment.Elena Buentello motioned for denial oft a deletion of Williams Drive in accordance with to recommendation.Motioned passed unanimously. I. Future Agenda Items: a. Renee Couture briefs Commission on how to place future agenda items on agenda. b. Elena Buentello motioned to recommend that the developers and owners coordinate with City and TOOT prior to being placed on the Planning Commission agenda.Motion passed unanimously.
