I. Call to Order-4:05pm
II. Roll Call of Members- Stacie Talbert Anaya-Assistant Director, Parks and Recreation
Present—Weizer, Ehlen, Rodriguez
Not Present—Christian (sick), Campos
Staff— Wentworth, Castaneda, Pyle, Anaya
III. Adoption of Minutes from October 9 , 2014 Rodriguez motioned; Weizer seconded; all in favor

VII. Old Business for Discussion and Possible Action
1. Review Tree Inventory/Survey Training and Sample
Training was helpful to TAC members and PARD staff. Tree Inventory/Maintenance
subcommittee suggest limiting the number of people responsible for conducting sample
inventory so results are consistent. Grant, Phillip and PARD will all take a section of the sample
and conduct inventory. The dates these groups will visit parks will be sent to all of TAC so
members who can join them can participate. Pyle asked Anaya to send her list of parks so she
can make maps for teams. Anaya to approach Solid Waste about reducing or waiving dump
fees so AEP can pay for an inventory of the bigger sample of parks.
2. Review and Update Tree Plan Development Action Plan
Tree Planning: 1 a. Add collection of soil samples
Tree Planting: 1 a. Include drought tolerant species at forefront to create possibility of partnering
with utilities for funds to support planting effort
Education: 1 b. add Castaneda/Anaya to building web presence task; keep it simple, use
pictures; Education Subcommittee to build one page PDFs with information.
Funding: 1 a. Add AEP as source for plan development funds
TAC to review in detail over month of November and bring suggestions to the table in
December.
VIII. Staff Liaison Report—Stacie Talbert Anaya
1. Review recommended tree species list in Parks & Recreation Master Plan
Hand out provided. Suggestion to have Development Services member Rhea conduct a study
of all ordinances, plans, guidelines that have landscaping/tree requirements to ensure
consistency and no contradictions.
2. Parks & Recreation Department Partnership with Master Naturalist
PARD to work MN to develop natural areas in several parks to reduce mowing burden. These
parks include Sands, Sacky, Schanen, St. Andrews and entrance area to Oso Creek Park II.
Also considering using area near the Oso Golf Course as a nursery. Wentworth to discuss
possibility of getting Christmas trees delivered by Solid Waste for mulching.
