I. Call to Order—4:00 pm
11. Roll Call of Members- Phillip Christian
I. Present— Phillip Christian, Viviana Rodriguez, Sylvia Campos,

III. Adoption of Minutes from April 9, 2015
Viviana Rodriguez motioned; Sylvia Compos seconded; all in favor
IV. Public Comment— None
V. Presentations—Alex from TAMUK on Masters Program Research on Geographical Information Services
(GIS). Showed what has been done for Kingsville, TX. Discussion on how he may be able to assist by
compiling data to provide a way to overlay information. This type of system could be beneficial
VI. New Business for Discussion and Possible Action
1. Tree Trimming Class given by Mark and Grant Ehlen. Phillip Christian attended along with
several employees of the City of Corpus Christi Parks and Storm Water and two employees of
AEP. Provided half of a day in the classroom learning to identify trees, when, where and how to
prune and trim trees correctly. Grant Ehlen provided information on safety when pruning and
trimming around power lines. The afternoon was spent at a nearby park discussing tree
species and how to apply what was leaned in the classroom. The information was all useful
and educational to city employees that attended. No action
2. Viviana will make some phone calls to city employees for Alex to further the opportunities for
him to be able to assist using GIS to compile information
