I. CALL TO ORDER
Chair, Neil McQueen called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
II. ROLL CALL
The recording secretary called roll and announced that a quorum was present.
III.ADOPTION OF MINUTES
Regular called meeting- December 6, 2012. Jay Gardner made a motion to approve. Cameron Perry
seconded. Minutes approved.
Neil welcomed Carrie Robertson to the Watershore and Beach Advisory Committee.
IV. HEAR FROM THE PUBLIC - none.
V. BUSINESS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION
A. New Business
Litter Resolution
Neil read through the Litter Resolution. Would like increased and improved Anti-Litter enforcement.
Committee discussed benefits of increased enforcement. Jay Gardner made a motion to approve. Diana
Del Angel seconded. Vote was called. Motion passed unopposed. Resolution will need to go to the
Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee for approval. If approved, the Resolution will be submitted to
City Council for final approval.
Skip the Plastics Update
City held a Trash Summit. The event was sponsored by AEP. Tony Amos spoke regarding the effect of
litter on marine life. On the plastic bag issue specifically, Oscar Martinez rolled out a draft ordinance on
implementing a bag fee. City is proposing a green star program. If businesses are proactive such as
using recycled bags, educate staff, clean-up site, they would avoid the fee. Staff is supposed to go back
to Council on April 15. They would present a future reading of the ordinance then come back for a
second presentation, and 3rd time for a vote.
B. Old Business for Discussion/Action
Donation for Windward Parking Lot
Water fountain is stored in a warehouse waiting for a plaque to be completed. Once the plaque is
complete, the fountain will be installed at the Windward Parking Lot.
VI. STAFF LIAISON REPORT
Beach cleanup at Packery Channel on Saturday April 6
Local dive shop is sponsoring a clean-up at Packery Channel. If members are interested in more
information, they can contact Angela Gonzalez with the City's Solid Waste Department.
VII. IDENTIFY ITEMS TO BE PLACED ON NEXT AGENDA

VIII. ADJOURNMENT
As there was no further business, Butch Pool made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Diana Del Angel
seconded. Chair, Neil McQueen adjourned the meeting at 6:03 pm.
