Members Present: Pablo Garza, Jonda Halcomb, Robert Hatherill, Kathy Juneau, Tom Kimes, Shannon Madden, and Luci Sosa. - Upon motion by Shannon Madden and seconded by Kathy Juneau the minutes of the November 11, 2011 regular meeting were approved as presented. - Upon motion by Luci Sosa and seconded by Kathy Juneau the absences of Shannon Madden and Jonda Halcomb were excused for good cause. Business: a. Mr. Stryker walked members through recent and historical data on attendance, admission revenue, and visitor surveys. Attendance and revenue was projected to be below last year's level and, although it is still too early in the year for definitive conclusions, it appears that the conservative projections were warranted. Visitor surveys have not changed significantly in the past year. b. The Advisory Committee is called upon to annually review admission rates for comparison to "similar attractions and similar facilities" in Corpus Christi and across Texas. The average adult admission charge has increased significantly over the past couple years. The Museum fee was last increased in 2010. The Museum fees remain less than the Lexington and significantly less than the Aquarium, while significantly greater than the Art Museum. Major institutions in Houston, Dallas, and Ft. Worth are significantly higher. Upon motion by Kathy Juneau and seconded by Robert Hatherill the committee unanimously agreed that there should be no change in the admission fee structure although they recommended that the Museum Director consider a variety of approaches to offering discounted family admission to those who visited the Hurricane Alley waterpark. c. Staff Reports - Interviews have been completed to fill two exhibit staff vacancies and job offers should be forthcoming soon.
