MEETING MINUTES
Call to Order: 12:01 PM by Jonda Holcomb
Roll Call:

A. Adoption of Minutes from April 5t" Special Meeting
a. Motion to Approve was Seconded and Unanimously Accepted
B. Public Comment
a. None
C. Museum Director's Updates
a. Weather has been putting stress on the roof of the museum
b. This year has already exceeded last year's attendance by 5,000
c. Summer camp just finished and was very successful. Last year 350 students
attended summer camp and this year's attendance was 500. Over 50% of the
campers elected to use the before/after care provided at an additional charge.
d. Admission and membership prices are being evaluated for an increase of $0.95
after prices were lowered 4 years ago. Military discounts have also been
expanded to include veterans. Lifetime memberships and package memberships
for the surrounding museums, Whataburger field, the Lexington etc... were also
discussed as a possible new opportunity. Dollar days will continue with the price
increase, one in the spring, one in the fall.
i. Motion to accept the proposed price increases was seconded and
unanimously approved.
Request for a written Directors Update report was requested.
D. McGregor Photographs Proposal: The Ed Rachel foundation has made a proposal to
preserve the McGregor photographs. Little information about the proposal was available
at this time, but a discussion is expected.
E. Status of Director Search: A decision is expected very soon. Two candidates remain at
this time from the application/interview process.
F. 3 Way Memorandum of Understanding: ACM provided the advisory board with a draft
version of a 3 way agreement between the City, the Museum and any other affiliates of
the Museum. Each member was asked to make any changes to the draft. The priority
of this exercise is to better establish roles and responsibilities for the Advisory board.
The concept of a board workshop or retreat was presented. Each member felt that
holding a workshop would be very beneficial for the advisory board particularly with the
addition of a new Museum Director. The workshop will be held in November.
