Education storage and Collections lab upstairs - Cleaned two small areas of mold. Floors stripped cleaned, may need further work. Plumbers came and ran cameras down gutters for videotaping to determine condition of gutters/drains. • Museum staff have been inventorying Natural History collections. That is done so we are now cleaning objects and moving them to rooms upstairs that Belfor set up shelving for. That process has begun. • In addition, Belfor will be working in the library. We will be moving the archives upstairs so they can clean walls, remediate and paint. • Museum staff also emptied the Abyss room (old TV studio) Belfor has begun working in that room to remediate and repair. • The front entrance floors and floors around shipwreck and disease hall are part of the FEMA claim form hurricane and will be handled separately from current work. • The city has begun the process of updating our HVAC. Our boiler went down recently and has been spotty the past couple of weeks. A new motor was ordered and put on the boiler and it is working now. Due to leaks in the chilled water system throughout the 3 museum, new pipes will be installed throughout the museum. A new boiler will also be installed and the system switched over. Plans are for the summer, as the boiler is being designed and fabricated now. • We are advertising and are interviewing for PT Educator positions as well as Front Desk employees. We have had several either move or find other employment while we have been closed so we need to get staff hired for when we open. As of now, we have CCISD school groups scheduled starting 1/29.
