The City Manager and Council remain committed to continuing the implementation of the Waters Compensation Study. Upon motion by Tony Diaz and seconded by Randy Lara the Committee recommended its approval by the City Council. All voted approval with one negative vote. c. The problem with a static budget is that facility maintenance needs continue to accumulate. Rick Stryker reported on three repair projects currently underway for which emergency or alternative funding had to be found by the City. In addition the Friends funded the purchase of a portable dehumidification unit to address the problem in the archeological storage area until funding to replace the constricted chill water supply line can be found. The Friends have also undertaken funding for the lease of eleven computer work stations. The cost of unfunded facility maintenance needs is nearly$500,000. d. The Committee discussed the process for the development of a curriculum guide for the Corpus Christi History exhibit. Sandra Linderman, Museum Educator, participated in the discussion. The Cultural Encounters exhibit will not be complete until the end of the summer, so it has been decided to delay development of that guide. It was decided that three third grade teachers will be engaged to work as a team to develop the guides beginning June first with a completed project by July 15. Each teacher will receive $1,000. The teachers will be selected from recommended candidates from CCISD, Flour Bluff ISD, and Tuloso Midway ISD. The Y Files summer program will not be held due to the press of the curriculum project and the staffs commitment to completing the Cultural Encounters exhibit by the end of August. e. Interviews for both the Science Curator and Collection Manager should take place in the near future. HGTV's Dream Drives episode on Ocean Drive will be broadcast beginning March 15. Historical photos from the Museum collection were used in the video. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 1:15 p.m. SCANNED
